Witness the spectacular Polish National Ballet in their first-ever visit to Montreal, performing Tchaikovsky's incredibly popular first ballet composition, Swan Lake. Artistic Director Krzysztof Pastor has a different vision of Swan Lake, which breaks new ground of this well-known ballet whilst still preserving the original essence.
The Story
Be transported to Imperial Russia, where Tsarevich Nicholas has put himself in a dangerous position. Torn between his first love, Alix of Hesse, and his lust for Mathilde Kschessinska, a polish ballerina who he's been having an affair with.
The court of St. Petersburg is thrown into turmoil, as news of the affair hits them on the eve of Tsarevich Nicholas' accession to the thrown.
This triumphant production first premiered in Warsaw, 2017 - and achieved an overwhelming amount of success.
